Interior painting

Interior painting, priced room by room

Bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, halls and baths. You choose the rooms, we price each one, and we finish one before starting the next, so you're never living in all of it at once.

In every room price

  • Floors, furniture and fixtures covered

  • Walls cleaned of dust and kitchen grease

  • Nail holes and hairline cracks patched, caulk gaps filled

  • Two coats of premium paint in the color you choose

  • Cleanup every day and a walk-through at the end

Empty room with pale blue-grey walls and a hardwood floor

Rooms we paint most

Four kinds of job

  • Bedroom with sage green walls and white trim

    Bedrooms

Walls first, then closet and trim if you want them. Done in a day or two.

  • Empty dining room with white wainscot, a coffered ceiling and a taupe wall

    Living and dining rooms

Bigger walls, wainscot, and ceilings that sometimes need a taller ladder.

  • Living room with a dark navy accent wall and two swivel chairs

    Accent walls

One bold wall done sharp: taped, cut in and rolled in two coats.

  • Blue-grey wall with an arched doorway and a white door

    Doors, trim and arches

Brushed, not sprayed, so the edges stay sharp. Priced on their own line.

A typical room

A bedroom, day by day

These are typical days for an average bedroom. Your written price lists the days for your rooms.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Day one, morning

We cover floors and furniture, mask the trim, wash the walls, and patch holes and cracks.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Day one, afternoon

Spot-prime the patches and stains, then roll the first coat.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Day two

Second coat, cutting in at the ceiling and corners, then trim and doors if they're in the price.

  4. 04

    Step 4: The last hour

We walk the room with you, touch up what you point at, and take the covers and tape away.

Before any paint

The prep we do in every room

  • Cover

Drop cloths on floors, plastic over furniture, tape on trim, outlet covers off.

  • Wash

Dust, grease and handprints come off the wall so the paint holds.

  • Patch and sand

Holes and cracks filled, sanded smooth and spot-primed.

  • Caulk

Gaps at trim and corners sealed so the lines come out clean.

Interior questions

Which sheen should I pick?

Flat or matte hides wall flaws in bedrooms and living rooms. Eggshell or satin wipes clean in halls, kitchens and kids' rooms. Semi-gloss suits trim and doors. Ask us for the product data sheet for any paint we use.

Can you help me choose a color?

Yes. Alicia brings a few swatches and puts them on the wall in your light. You can also send us a photo of a color you like.

Can we stay home while you paint?

Yes. We finish one room before starting the next, and we keep the rest of the house clear. Open the windows or run the air conditioning while paint dries.
