Questions people ask before they call
How do I get a price?
Text us three photos of each room, or fill in the form on the contact page. We reply with a written price, each room on its own line.
What is on the written price?
Each room, what's included, repairs, how many coats, the paint and sheen, colors, cleanup, the days, the payment schedule and the warranty.
What isn't on it?
Repairs we find after we start and extra colors you add. We price those and agree with you before we do them.
How long will it take?
Most bedrooms take one to two days, most whole interiors take several days to a couple of weeks. Your price lists the days. We don't promise a date we can't keep.
Do I need to move furniture, and can we stay home?
We move light pieces and cover the rest. Heavy furniture and wall art are yours to move, or we price the time. You can stay home; we finish one room before the next.
My house was built before 1978. Does that change anything?
Yes. Homes built before 1978 may have lead in old paint. The EPA's rule for renovation, repair and painting applies to paid work that disturbs paint in these homes, and the firm doing it must be EPA certified for that work. Tell us the year when you text. If the home is covered, we set up plastic containment, don't dry-sand or burn paint, clean with a HEPA vacuum, and give you the EPA's lead pamphlet before work starts. Our firm number is in the footer.
How many coats, and which sheen?
Two coats on walls. Matte or flat for bedrooms and living rooms, eggshell or satin where walls get touched, semi-gloss for trim and doors.
Who buys the paint?
We do, and it's premium paint. Ask for the product data sheet for any paint on your job.
What about weather and drying time?
Humidity slows drying, so we plan for it and don't recoat a wall that hasn't dried. Outside work waits for dry mornings and we text you when a day moves.
How do you protect my floors and plants?
Drop cloths on floors, plastic on furniture, tape on trim. Outside, we cover plants and move or cover cars.
Is there a deposit, and when do I pay?
On larger jobs there's a deposit before the first day, and the rest follows the schedule on your written price.
What does the warranty cover?
Peeling and blistering that come from our workmanship. Terms, limits and exclusions are in your written warranty.
Can you match a color or help me pick one?
Yes. Send a photo or a chip, or Alicia brings swatches to the wall in your light.
Who handles HOA approval?
You do, before we start. We'll give you color names, sheens and a short description of the work for the board.
Still have a question?
Text or call. Alicia or Emilio will answer in English or Spanish.
